Nordic Cooperation in North West Russia
A preliminary study for stimulating Nordic cooperation in Murmansk region is financed by SIVA –TECH and Nopef. Focus will be on development and establishment of new Nordic companies and reinforcing economic networks. The preliminary study starts this autumn and will be finalized in March 2010.
SIVATECH is a fully owned daughter company to the Norwegian state owned company SIVA SF. The company has fourteen years of expertise with accommodating Norwegian- Russian business cooperation, business establishments and innovation projects in Murmansk, Russia. SIVA –TECH is operator on behalf of SIVA SF on Polarstar Innovation Centre, Polarstar Inkubator and Technopark Nor . All of them localized in Murmansk. The last mentioned, Technopark Nor, is realized in cooperation with Innovation Norway.
Nopef, Nordic Project Fund, is a part of the organization of Nordic Council of Ministers. Nopef’s main focus is on stimulating and developing Nordic cooperation, Nordic economic growth and to increase the competitive strength on international markets.
Hopefully, the preliminary study will contribute to increase business potentials and strengthen the network for Nordic businesses in Murmansk region. The aim is to achieve increased cooperation for growth and development in North West Russia. It is hereby also emphasized cooperation among Nordic businesses and Russian businesses for accommodating local interests and prosperity.
